Just figuring out how to post pics and resize and such. Anyway this is Tweaks my Manny, he's around five inches and aggressive as hell. Chase fingers, shadows, hell his own reflection if he catches sight of it!!

Believe it or not the pleco has survived. I moved them both to a bigger tank and even though he hides under some driftwood all the time he survives and never gets tail nipped even. Anything else that has gone in there has not lasted the week.

I believe it! I have a compressus and a blue diamond. Each of them have a pleco as a friend. They both do some damage to the plecos. THe blue Diamond will just keep on the pelco. I have had to pull the pleco out and place him into my quarentine tank to heal him. But there is a 3.5" cichlid that's survived for 4 months now. I have videos my piranhas posted on here.

Yeah I checked out your compressus ripping up those fish. Pretty deadly and a good watch.

I hear Manuelis are extremely sensitive to water conditions? how often do you change water and clean your tank?

I do at least a 30% water change weekly, I take that it's not water conditions as much as they do not handle stress as well as others. Water params just being another reason to stress so not a thing you want to slack on. I also once every two weeks do a 15% water change without dechlorinator to freshen up the tank. I know that may sound strange but after listening to breeders and some of the tricks they use it made sense. I also have him in a tank that is big enough to allow him to relax and enough filtration for the tank if it was packed.

What size tank do you have him in? does changing the water with 15% without dechlorinating work? does that not stress the fish?

I had him in a 90 gallon. You have to assimilate them to it very slowly. Plus I monitor the living hell out of my levels. Don't make a difference however he's dead now. I tried transferring him this week and he never made it.
