Photo in the News: Robot Fish Debut in London

This week the London Aquarium unveiled the newest "species" to join its collection: robo-carp.

Computer scientists at the University of Essex in the U.K. developed the self-guided robot fish, seen here swimming in the aquarium. The designers say it is the smartest such robot yet created—the fish uses artificial intelligence and built-in sensors to avoid obstacles and respond to environmental changes.

How many red bellies or caribe could I put in a 50 gallon tank? I have 2 red bellies in there now but since there are only 2 they are very shy and skittish. They will not eat when anyone is near by. I would like to get enough so that they won't be so shy. I may go with a elongatus if i can not put enough reds to make it worth while. Which option should i go with 1 elongatus or multiple reds/caribe? Thanks.

I have a few tanks laying around. So i disassembled a 10gallon for the glass. Then i grabbed a 20gal and cleaned it all out. I cut a piece of glass about 5" high and siliconed it in the 20gal tank to make a divider. Its placed so I can fill one side of the tank about 4.5" high with water and the other side will be dirt. The water side takes up 65% of the footprint. I am thinking of some small plants on the dirt side, and some p gravel on the water side. But not sure on what animal i ...

We have been grwoing our fish stock lately. here it is as of today.

So, my little convicts now have fry. And since, now run the tank. Now they are still only about 2" and pretty small compared to some of the tankmates, except a glo tetra that wandered to far from its shoal. Apparently a pissed off Male convict will eat tetra's. lol. I watched him snatch it up and eat it up. I didnt even think his mouth could open that big. As much as I didnt want to loose a fish, I couldnt help but laugh, I dont even know why I did. I have fed them flake food and ...

I picked up a 55gal over the weekend. The wife wont let me do anything with it until this summer. So i have a couple months to do some research. I am currently building the stand for it now. here is a cell pic of the stand as of 1 hour ago.

So i have another saturday of work left to do on it. But what should i fill it with. I like trying different fish. Currently i have exo's, convicts, and a piranha. I want something that wont grow out of it. So many decisions.
